First Aid and Ambulance Services

An important activity carried out by the Irish Red Cross is its provision of First Aid and Ambulance service. We can provide highly trained First Aiders (to Emergency Medical First Responder level) and Ambulance Crews to event organisers nationwide, covering events such as Concerts, Equestrian Events, Sporting Competitions and other Public Gatherings.

Our first aiders under rigerous training, assessment and reassessment at regular intervals in the areas of First Aid, C.P.R. and Ambulance Skills to ensure that our volunteers follow current best practice in patient care.

The Irish Red Cross maintains a nationwide fleet of highly-equipped ambulances, with skilled crews drawn from its own volunteers. In Limerick, we have 4 road ambulances, 2 off-road ambulances, a minibus and a operations support unit, as well as a bike support unit with two mountain bikes. We are also fortunate to be able to count a number of healthcare professionals among our members, such as Doctors, Nurses and Paramedics.
