Limerick to Represent Ireland at FACE 2006

On June 17th 2006, The Irish Red Cross will be represented at the European First Aid Competitions in Assisi Italy, by a Limerick team. The six-person team, achieved this honour by winning the National President’s Trophy Competition in 2005. They were presented with their trophy by President Mary McAleese.

Front Row: Hilary Parkinson, Michael O'Donoghue, Fintan Breen

The competition will include simulated accident scenarios, safe lifting, CPR, and other first aid based assessments. The simulations will require the first aiders to use all of their skills to successfully manage the accident scenes. The competitions allow the first aiders to react as they would should they come across such an incident while on duty with the Red Cross.
