*Ireland Floods Appeal*
Irish Red Cross volunteers from Limerick city helping to evacuate families in Limerick to emergency centers.Sean Curtin Photography.
For some of the people in Limerick, the cleanup is beginning and people are starting to count their losses. But warning forecasts of storms and torrential rain means the flooding may get worse in out area.
Families have been left devastated by the damage caused by flood water. The Irish Red Cross is there to help them, our volunteers were out on Saturday helping to evacuate families from the effected areas of the city, on the Sunday and on a number of other days since we have also been out providing tea / coffee and soup and sandwiches in the effected areas.
A gift to the Irish Red Cross Ireland Floods Appeal will help those most in need in Ireland to replace practical belongings. We will give small grants of up to €1,000 to the people who genuinely cannot manage without it.
In the meantime, Irish Red Cross volunteers are checking on people they know to be alone, elderly or vulnerable doing what ever they can to help, and we would encourage people to do likewise and check on their neighbours.
